Alex Morelli is an artist, filmmaker, and educator based in Chicago. After spending the better part of his childhood with a video camera in his hand, he fell in love with personal and observational documentaries in Harvard's Art, Film, and Visual Studies program. He went on to study experimental film and become obsessed with all things 16mm. In addition to directing his own films, he works as a cinematographer, editor, and AE on documentaries and videos for artists, organizations, and social movements. Once upon a time he was included in Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film.
